Two project management firms in the Southeast have merged.
Millbridge Group in Hertford has bought Norman Rourke Consulting in London. The deal creates a £4.5m turnover business with contract values under management totalling £200m. Millbridge accounts for around £3.5m to £3.8m of the turnover.
Millbridge has a staff of just over 30, while NRC has eight people. The new entity will trade under the Millbridge name.
NRC's owners Tony Lyons and Robin Mitchell will become directors of Millbridge. Graham Clarke, managing director of Millbridge, said the move improved his firm's foothold in London, where it was picking an increasing number of jobs on top end private houses. "This is a natural progression for the group. We've been looking for a London presence in addition to our Hertford base."

NRC (formerly Norman, Rourke & Partners) was founded in 1968 and its clients include BAE Systems and HSBC. Lyons said: "Millbridge is the ideal and natural partner for us... The merger will give us strength to build on the London market for both investor and developer clients."
Millbridge now adds a London branch to its offices in Hertford, Paris and the Algarve. Millbridge offers building surveying as well as PM. It has just won a £250,000 scheme to build an annex at Lea Manor High School, Luton.
