  • Immigration and the use of migrant labour in the UK is under increasing focus
  • Employers will be particularly affected by the enlargement of the EU; the introduction of the Restrictions of Employment Order 2004; and new in-country Leave to Remain procedures
  • Nationals of the new EU member states have immediate access to the UK labour market but they must register to do so
  • Employers can face unlimited fines if they do not ensure that workers are registered
