MK Electric’s Southend manufacturing plant has topped three categories at the Best Factory Awards 2005.
The electrical accessories specialist’s base scooped Best Electronics and Electrical Plant, the Innovation Award and Regional Award East.
The Best Factory Awards are run by the Cranfield School of Management. Now in their 13th year, they promote manufacturing excellence in the UK, seeking out companies who strive to improve quality, delivery performance, stock turns and productivity.
Mike Southgate, managing director of MK, said: “We are delighted these prestigious awards recognise that MK is at the forefront of technology and excels in the manufacture of innovative and top class engineered products. We are extremely pleased to be rewarded for a successful and economical manufacturing process in the UK, when in the current environment so many companies choose to outsource overseas.”
