4S Sphinx has installed a sophisticated motion detection and surveillance system supplied by Hemel Hempstead based Vision Fire and Security at an Egyptian temple.
The Adpro Axiom system was chosen to increase protection measures at the temple of Ramses II, which lies adjacent to the Aswan dam on the shores of Lake Nasser.

An alarm condition is generated if the system detects any motion at the historic temple, which was originally built in the 13th century and rebuilt during the construction of the dam in the 1960s. Monitoring is carried out by 45 cameras fitted around the site. And the system prevents false alarms by using sophisticated algorithms to provide automatic scene and environmental learning, which are required to compensate for strong shadows and the movement of trees.

The Axiom system at Abu Simbel uses 26 of the available 140 channels and provides touch-screen control of cameras, with low and high contrast alarms for camera failure or sabotage detection.
