SITO, the industry’s National Training Organisation, has launched an interactive e-learning training package called ‘Risky Business’ as a guide to preventing money laundering crimes.
Developed in accordance with both the FSA Regulations and the guidance notes produced by the Joint Money Laundering Steering Group, the course uses a variety of information sources, case studies and interactive opportunities to train in-house security professionals employed by investment management concerns, law and accountancy firms and independent financial advisors.

The course defines money laundering and ways of combating against it, covers all the relevant UK money laundering legislation (interpreting current regulations) and advises on how to recognise/report suspicious transactions and keep records.

Commenting on the new product, chief executive Raymond Clarke told SMT: “Employers need to put in place effective measures against money laundering, and ensure that staff are fully aware of the problem and how they can fight back. It’s in this last area that ‘Risky Business’ can really be a valuable tool for employers.”

n SITO has also launched a multimedia training CD for parking contravention codes.

The CD is built around the evolution of parking control, regulations and contravention codes/penalty charges.

Successful completion of the programme by security officers will ensure that they have the underpinning knowledge required for S/NVQ Parking Control Level 2.
