Presentation Housing Association has appointed the first director of its subsidiary Ajanta and given him a brief to double its shared-ownership key-worker programme in the next 12 months.
Os Osman, former portfolio manager for East Choice, part of East Thames Group, said a main aim for his time in charge would be to encourage key workers to use some of their skills outside work hours to help improve life for Presentation’s other disadvantaged and black and minority-ethnic communities.
By the end of this year Ajanta, which was set up in 2003, will have sold 44 units and let another 54. Its 2006 programme looks to double that, providing 195 mainly shared-ownership units.
It previously came under the wing of Presentation’s director of housing services, but the association decided a full-time director was needed to oversee the planned growth.
