Crown House Engineering has won the contract to provide mechanical, electrical and public health services at Gatwick Airport's new departure lounge.
The £5 million contract for the two-floor extension includes ten retail shops, two large catering areas and open market-style retail units.

As part of the project, Crown House is supplying a specialist computerised lighting system that has been manufactured in Canada and offers three million colour variations. This will be achieved by using a 40 m long tube with seven projectors reflecting the colour combinations onto the walls and ceilings. Crown House is also providing the building services in a new south terminal arrivals building, valued at £5 million.

The project is part of an ongoing partnership with BAA that includes contracts to work on the Pier 5 extension and the Atrium project, both at Heathrow; Stansted terminal extension; a car park at Southampton; and building services contracts for new car parks at both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
