Reverse cycle heat pump

Airedale has added a reverse cycle heat pump option to its StoreMaster range of packaged/split system air-conditioning units. The dual circuit heat pump offers cooling or heating and provides 3kW of heating energy for each 1kW of electrical input.

The range now uses Airedale’s AireTronix microprocessor to self-optimise its cooling-only/free-cooling/heat pump cycles. The controller can be integrated with a wide range of BMS protocols.

Humidity defence

The Defensor PH15 from Axair Climate is an evaporative humidifier designed to deliver precise control of relative humidity with reduced energy consumption. The unit employs a short water course with minimum contact between the water and internal surfaces. This minimises the formation of limescale in hard water areas and reduces maintenance requirements.

Its innovative filter system removes dust and odours from the air, making it ideal for museums, galleries and spaces where the quality of indoor environment is particularly important. An integral sensor provides precise control of humidity, which can be programmed to certain times by an inbuilt timer.

Remote legionella monitoring

Radio-Tech says its remote legionella monitoring system is the first to fully comply with Table 3 of the Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) and Guidance, Legionnaires’ disease: The control of legionella bacteria in water systems (L8). If a water system fails to meet the levels indicated in ACoP L8, the RTcom Legion monitor will send an email or text alert. Test results are stored for five years, proof that testing and monitoring has been carried out.

Super-efficient VRF system

The Multi V Sync from LG is a VRF system that enables simultaneous heating and cooling from one outdoor unit. The heat recovery system allows indoor units to be designated or switched from heating to cooling and vice versa.

LG says it is the first unit of its kind that offers rapid heat/cool changeover with no loss of system performance. For simultaneous heating and cooling the heat absorbed from indoor units in cooling mode is recycled and reused for indoor units requiring heating.

Rhoss chiller distributor Coolmation has launched the Y Power scroll series of air-cooled chillers. Available in cooling capacities from 368kW to 523kW, Y Power chillers have been specifically developed to run on the environmentally-friendly refrigerant R410a and feature multi-scroll compressors to offer superior energy efficiency performance at part load.

Data centre cooling

The Liebert HPM family of precision conditioners, by Emerson Network Power, has been developed to provide large data centres with maximum flexibility and significant reductions in cost and power consumption.

The range is available in different versions according to the airflow direction top down, bottom up or displacement. With new power ratings up to 200kW, it is suitable for protecting complex installations dedicated to processing large data volumes.
