The Databac Group, specialist provider of identification solutions, has begun supplying bespoke warrant cards and civilian passes to the Metropolitan Police Force – in tandem with a bespoke, fully-automated secure networked pass issuing system.
The pass issuing system comprises a number of networked badge printing stations running on a client/server platform. This is fully-integrated with the Metropolitan Police’s own vetting system, which authenticates both personnel and contractor data. Databac has built in advanced encryption algorithms to ensure a high degree of security.
Each of the new warrant cards – which replace the somewhat outdated laminated badges – have been manufactured with polyester substrates to extend their lifespan, and protect them from inevitable wear-and-tear.
They have also been pre-printed with a variety of visible and covert security features, including a high resolution branded hologram, and feature Wiegand Wire technology for use in the Met’s Control Room.
Official use of the new-style warrant cards began last month.
