An initiative that began as a full-scale model of a “green” terraced house is reappearing in shrunken form

No 1 Lower Carbon Drive first appeared in Trafalgar Square in December 2007 when the London Development Agency launched its Green Homes campaign. A 1:12 scale model of the house will be shown at an exhibition at London’s Building Centre, opening on 10 September.

Carbon plot thickens

The government has unveiled its Low Carbon Transition Plan which plots out how the UK will meet the promised 34% cut in emissions on 1990 levels by 2020. Housing minister John Healey has announced the four eco-town sites, and the zero carbon homes definition.
