Ascot racecourse has ordered a £10m programme to rectify problems with last year’s refurbishment project.

Arup and Peter Rogers, the director of Stanhope, had been called in to analyse problems at the £185m development after guests had complained of restricted views.

Ascot confirmed this week that four-and-a-half months of works will be carried out. These include:

  • Increased gradient of lawns to improve viewing
  • A temporary 2000-seat stand
  • Extra club, restaurant and bar
  • A permanent raised bandstand adjacent to the Parade Ring.
The scheme was designed by HOK Sport.
