Michael Whitwell has been chosen to take the helm at the Association for Consultancy and Engineering

Michael Whitwell, commercial director at consultant Capita Symonds, has been elected as the chairman of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE).

Whitwell joined Capita Symonds in November following a decade working at rival White Young Green, he will be at the helm ACE for a year.

ACE focuses on the business interests of about 800 consultancy and engineering forms in the UK, promoting the work of the industry and giving its members a voice.

Whitwell said: “At a time when the industry is relatively healthy, it is crucial that we increase and talk up the value of consultancy and engineering. We need to speak out on the key issues and raise our banner high."

ACE's chief executive Nelson Ogunshakin said: "I am looking forward to working with Michael in driving forward ACE's agenda to the next level over the next 12 months."
