Aecom has been chosen as technical adviser and cost consultant on a €150m scheme to build several new retirement homes for Ireland’s national health service.

The public private partnership will see an as-yet unconfirmed number of community nursing units being built over a four-year period.

Some of the units will be put onto new greenfield sites, while others will be built on existing campuses owned by the Ireland’s Health Service Executive.

Aecom said it will provide technical advice throughout the programme, as well as cost management services up to detailed design of the schemes.
