Foster and Partners has unveiled this spectacular design for a £1bn residential resort on the Red Sea coast of Egypt.

The luxurious development, for Jordan’s Shaheen Business and Investment Group, covers 650 acres and includes 736 residential units (each with its own pool), a 200-room seven-star luxury hotel and an 18-hole golf course. The architect is also working on proposals to build a 200-mile canal betweenthe Red Sea and the Dead Sea to improve irrigation in the region.
