Architect Allford Hall Monaghan Morris is drawing up designs for a scheme on London’s South Bank.

The scheme, for developer Great Portland Estates, will be on the corner of Southwark Street and Blackfriars Road.

The 0.4 acre site, which Great Portland Estates bought for £11m, will be used for 130,000 ft2 of offices with some residential space.

Currently the site contains two office buildings, let to consultant KPMG, which are to be demolished.

The height of the building is not yet known but it will be tall enough to have river views despite being a block away from the Thames.

The developer will submit a planning application in late 2006 and plans to begin construction during 2009.
