BG contract will see engineering consultant deliver services on North Sea platforms

Amec has won a £140m contract to provide engineering and construction services for the BG Group’s facilities in the North Sea.

The three-year contract triples the size of services supplied by Amec.

Projects under the new contract include work on three BG gas platforms in the central North Sea area.

As well as engineering works Amec will install new living quarters on the North Everest platform, which BG said would enable it to increase offshore capacity.

John Pearson, managing director of Amec’s Europe and West Africa business, said: “I am proud of our proven performance; safety record and drive for continuous improvement, all of which have helped us secure this award. We look forward to another three years of excellent delivery for BG Group and for the North Sea.”
