Julian Daniel and Chris Houchin have both left the firm

The departure of another senior figure from Lend Lease’s UK construction business has emerged days after the company confirmed the exit of Julian Daniel, executive general manager for England and Wales.

Chris Houchin, a business development director with the former Bovis business since 2005, is understood to be on gardening leave from the company. The reasons for his departure were unclear as Building went to press.

Houchin’s exit was confirmed days after Building.co.uk revealed that Julian Daniel, who has been with the company for 13 years, was to leave the firm in September. Daniel led Lend Lease’s UK contracting arm - the former Bovis business - in England and Wales.

Houchin is a well known figure in the contracting sector, having previously worked at Wimpey Construction, Balfour Beatty and Heery.

Lend Lease has confirmed that following Daniel’s departure Paul Gandy will take over the running of the business in England and Wales.

The exits come amid a period of change at the firm, which Building last week revealed is consulting staff over a major overhaul of its pension scheme, thought to affect between 500 and 600 people.
