Retail landmark on Sloane Square is listed at grade II*

Architect Sergison Bates Architects and heritage specialist Purcell have been commissioned to revamp the outside of Chelsea department store Peter Jones & Partners.

The grade II* building, which dates back to the 1930s, is owned by the John Lewis Partnership and sits on a prominent corner site on Sloane Square.

Sergison Bates said the seven-storey concrete, glass and metal building stitched together elements from different periods and of diverse character into a single city block.

Plans for the project are expected to be submitted to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea by the end of the year.
