The Movement for Innovation has called for more architects and other consultants to joins its new Respect for People trials.
Only one architect, Guildford-based practice Scott Brownrigg & Turner, and four other consultants, including Arup, have signed up since the trials were launched late last year.

The 90 companies that have joined are mainly clients and contractors. They include Mowlem, Balfour Beatty and Shepherd.

The trials were launched by construction minister Nick Raynsford last November and provide firms with checklists and performance measures to encourage better working and recruitment practices .

Respect for People trials project manager Adian Terry added that more small and medium-sized firms were wanted for the trials.
