ARSENAL FC has added £5m of local transport infrastructure improvements to the £100m plan for the redevelopment of its stadium at Highbury, north London.
The transport improvements include the expansion of the listed Holloway Road Tube station and a revised layout by CZWG Architects for the proposed council waste and recycling centre on the nearby site at Lough Road.

In addition, a publicly accessible garden will be created on the site of the existing pitch, designed by Allies and Morrison Architects, and a leisure and entertainment area will be developed close to the stadium.

However, HOK Sport's design for the 60,000-seat stadium remains unchanged.

Despite the additional facilities, the club's plans are still opposed by the Islington Stadium Communities Alliance, representing 12 local groups. The alliance has appealed to London mayor Ken Livingstone to veto the plans.
