Construction and property consultancy will redevelop boxes and hospitality suites

Construction and property consultancy AYH has won a contract to roll out a masterplan at Fontwell race course.

Northern Racing Group, which owns nine racing courses, has appointed AYH to take on the roles of project manager and cost consultant on the project.

The first phase of the masterplan has already commenced with the construction of a new parade ring and a new winners enclosure.

Phase 2 of the development, due to be completed by early 2008, will involve the redevelopment of the boxes and hospitality suites.

Ian Smith, executive director at AYH said: “This is a significant and strategic move for AYH.”

Marc Hewett, project leader on the scheme said: “Fontwell Park is a premier hospitality venue in the South. This is an interesting project, its success will be dependent upon striking a balance between providing new first class facilities for race go-ers to enjoy, and carefully maintaining the course’s charm and character.”
