BBES set to begin works on the project this month

Balfour Beatty Engineering Services has landed a £10.5m contract for two Oldham schools on the Building Schools for the Future programme.

The M&E contract covers the design, supply and installation of mechanical and electrical services to North Chadderton School and Oldham Roman Catholic School.

Services installed by BBES include natural and mechanical ventilation systems, above ground drainage schemes, modular wiring systems and access control systems.

The schools will also include eco-compliant features such as rainwater harvesting systems and an interactive BMS function capable of lighting zonal control.

Construction work on the project began in March with BBES set to begin its works in the summer of 2011.

Oldham Roman Catholic School is a new build project while North Chadderton is a partial rebuild and remodelling job.

Peter Davies will manage BBES operations on site with the project set for completion by the summer of 2012.
