Tyler: "acquisition further strengthens energy management capability"

CTH designs and installs energy control systems. Its customers include Sainsbury's and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and it has contracts with various PFI schools.

Ian Tyler, chief executive of Balfour Beatty, said: "I am delighted to welcome CTH to the Balfour Beatty group. This acquisition further strengthens the energy management capability available to our customers."

It is not Balfour Beatty's first acquisition in this sector. The firm bought Covion, a facilities infrastructure business, in October last year for £33m.
