Balfour Beatty and Graham Contracting win £209m project to build a new metro line in Denver, USA

A Balfour Beatty and Graham Contracting joint venture as won a £209m contract for the design and construction of a new metro line in Denver, USA.

This project is the third in a series of electrified commuter rail lines that the JV is building across the region, with the first two already under construction.

The project involves the design and build of the new 13-mile commuter rail line from Denver Union Station to 124th Avenue, which will serve Denver, Commerce City, Thornton, Northglenn and Adams County.

Design begins immediately, with the first groundbreaking scheduled for spring of 2014.
