LBS Properites pick Balfour Beatty for pre-construction contract

Balfour Beatty has been awarded the £150m contract to deliver pre-construction services for The Madison tower in the Docklands.

The firm is to work with developer LBS Properties on the procurement and delivery strategy in anticipation of the full construction contract being awarded this summer

The 53-storey tower adjacent to Canary Wharf will provide commercial space at ground level, 423 apartments and feature a residents’ lounge, private screening room and swimming pool.

Dean Banks, managing director of Balfour Beatty’s UK Construction Services business, said he was delighted and looked forward to “securing the full award in the summer.”

Balfour Beatty will begin enabling works this February prior to full contract award with completion of the development scheduled for late 2019.
