Commercial buildings contractor loses fight to stay afloat

Wrexham-based Barnhill Construction has gone into administration.

The London Gazette said the firm, which specialised in the construction of commercial buildings, had its affairs placed into the hands of Grant Thornton by the High Court’s Manchester District Registry.

Barnhill was established in 1991 and took on building and civil engineering projects up to £5m in value. It also had a steel fabrication division.

Its clients are understood to have included Redrow Homes, John Sisk, Kellogg and Cadbury.
