Barratt Homes has finally concluded its £2.2bn acquisition of Wilson Bowden.

Wilson Bowden’s shares ceased trading on Monday, and were due to be relisted as Barratt shares yesterday.

The deal makes Barratt the UK’s largest housebuilder with about 19,800 annual completions.

The enlarged company has a land bank of 103,550 plots, and a direct workforce of 7,500.

However, if the proposed merger between Taylor Woodrow and George Wimpey goes ahead, the resulting firm would leapfrog Barratt.
