Barratt is expecting to build 1,000 more homes this year than previously expected

Scott joined Countryside in 2014 and served as financial controller and then chief financial officer.

Before that he held a number of financial roles at retailer Sainsbury’s.

A Barratt spokesperson said Scott had overseen a period of “significant growth” at Countryside, including the group’s Initial Public offering in 2016 and the acquisition of Westleigh Homes in April 2018.

Countryside’s reported revenue increased from £671.3m in 2016 to £1.2million in 2019, before falling to £892m last year due to the pandemic.

Barratt has been searching for a new CFO since the housebuilder announced the surprise departure of Jessica White in March. White, who had been with Barratt for 16 years and was promoted to CFO in 2017, is leaving the company next month for undisclosed ‘personal reasons’.

Barratt last month announced that it expects to build nearly a 1,000 more homes in the year to June than previously anticipated due to strong demand in the Spring. The company said it expects to build between 16,000 and 16,250 homes this year, without including joint ventures.
