Buro Happold, Davis Langdon, Battle McCarthy, DP9 and Roger Preston and Partners are among consultants appointed by REO

The masterplanning team to redevelop Battersea Power Station has been announced by developer Real Estate Opportunities (REO).

Buro Happold will be structural engineers; Roger Preston and Partners will provide M&E services; Davis Langdon will be cost consultants and Battle McCarthy will be in charge of sustainability. DP9 is looking after planning.

The team will help architect Rafael Viñoly put together a masterplan for the development of the 15ha site, which is to be mainly residential. Viñoly was appointed in April after Arup’s original masterplan was scrapped by REO in February.

Rob Davies, REO’s development manager, said: “The team has been recruited both from those, such as Buro Happold, who have previous experience of the project and a thorough understanding of the challenges faced, and those new to the Project but with fresh and innovative ideas. Our intention is to ensure that the revised masterplan, once in place, can be developed both as quickly and as thoroughly as possible.”

REO said the team expected to be able to consult on its specific design intentions in early 2008.
