A total of 403 bespoke, prefabricated bathrooms pods have been used in the £150m Heart mixed-use development in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey.

The pods were designed and installed by manufacturer BKS Homewares. James Everitt from EPR Architects, which designed the flats, said the pods simplified the procurement process, cut down on risks and eliminated the complex sequences involves in conventional approaches to bathroom building. He said: “They help achieve consistently high levels of finish and workmanship, and ensure minimal levels of snagging and an on-time handover.”

The sixth-floor penthouses are the final phase of the residential aspect of this scheme by developer O&H Properties. The one, two and three-bedroom apartments vary from 523ft2 to 1,617ft2 in area. The penthouses also feature Poggenpohl kitchens with granite work surfaces with integrated Neff appliances.
