The Keynsham Regeneration Project involves the construction of new council buildings

Bath and East Somerset council is inviting firms to bid for a £33m contract to build new council offices in Keynsham.

The Keynsham Regeneration Project involves the regeneration of the existing council offices site in the town.

As part of the design and build contract, the winning bidder will construct a new library, retail units and council offices.

The project forms part of an overall plan by the council to reduce the amount of office space it uses.

The council also says that the amount of carbon it emits in its buildings will fall by 70%.

A formal invitation for expressions of interest will go out on 22 August and firms can register to prequalify after that date via http://www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk/
