Blackpool promenade has had a £4m makeover. The changes include new street lighting, modern sculpture and an LED wall in the shape of a crashing wave. The work has been funded by the North West Development Agency, the European Regional Development Fund and Blackpool council. The client was Blackpool New Horizons Team, the masterplanner was EDAW, the main contractor was Birse Civils, the lighting was by DPA Lighting Consultants, the structural engineer was Arup. Blackpool Technical Services provided site supervision, civil engineering and M&E engineering.
