We’ll be showcasing our new headquarters as part of a packed programme of Ecobuild events

Building is hosting a full programme of activity at Ecobuild next week, including a drinks reception to celebrate our Building 2012 campaign and Government Construction Summit event. To book a place at any of these events please email: charlotte.corcoran@ubm.com

We will be showcasing the new headquarters of our parent company, UBM, at 240 Blackfriars Road, which is being designed by Allford Hall Monaghan Morris and built by Mace.

Building will welcome an industry delegation from the Brazilian construction industry to its drinks reception, along with Paul Morrell, the government’s chief construction adviser, and Olympic gold medallist Kriss Akabusi.

Meanwhile, Thomas Lane, Building’s assistant editor, will be presenting select findings from the Sustainability White Paper.

He said: “The white paper tells you what is driving the sustainability agenda and what really matters to clients. Sustainability touches all aspects of construction making this piece of research essential reading for everyone in this industry.”

Ike Ijeh, Building’s architectural correspondent, will also give a talk, on the Olympic regeneration zone.

He said: “The Olympic park represents the culmination of a long regeneration process that has already transformed the area beyond recognition.

“Ecobuild offers an opportunity to explore how this was achieved and the legacy it will leave for the industry as a whole.”

We will be celebrating our Top 50 Rising Stars of Sustainability on the stand on Wednesday afternoon with a reception hosted by Building’s features editor Emily Wright and a welcome speech by environmental activist Tamsin Omond.

Brand director Tom Broughton said he was delighted with the events lined up for Ecobuild and encouraged readers to come to the stand to meet the UBM and Building teams.

He said: “Building’s parent company UBM has a full programme at Ecobuild and Building is playing an integral part in it.

“We are particularly proud to be planning the government’s Construction Summit in association with the Cabinet Office and the Department of Business.

“We look forward to offering our networking opportunities at events including the Building 2012 Gala Dinner.”
