Paul Aubrey, the man who headed RBS’ distressed land asset vehicle West Register, has left the bank

RBS said he left last month “to pursue other real estate investment opportunities” after 27 years with the bank, which is 84% owned by the taxpayer. So far there has been no news of a replacement.

West Register, which was set up in August 2008, contains land assets that are being held until the market improves and is understood to include collapsed housebuilder Oakdene.

It also includes the Richmond Centre shopping mall in Londonderry that West Register bought for £24m earlier this month.
