Statement reveals company has bought seven sites this year with plans for 2,500 more plots

Bovis Homes continues its focus on buying land after acquiring 811 new plots so far this year.

The firm released a statement today confirming that it will continue to focus on acquiring land. So far this year it has bought seven sites, comprising a total of 811 plots, and agreed terms “in principle” on a further 18 sites, which will provide around 2,500 further plots.

Also in the statement it revealed that it has completed the sale of 1,208 properties so far this year, 643 of which were preliminarily sold in 2009 and 565 of which were new sales in 2010. The figure is 11% up on the same point in 2009.

At the start of the month the firm had £130m of net cash in hand.
