Bovis Lend Lease has been appointed project manager for the £940m redevelopment of the Fiera Milano exhibition centre in Milan, Italy.
Bovis will act as consultant to international consortium CityLife on the project. The company has worked as project manager on the bid phase since last November.
Nicola Colella, Bovis’ manager for Italy, said: “This is one of the biggest development projects ever planned in Italy and for us it has been a unique experience working with a phenomenal team.”
The consortium plans to transform 255,000 m2 of the 440,000 m2 museum site into a mix of cultural, residential and commercial space.
The CityLife consortium includes Generali Properties, Gruppo RAS, Progestim, Lamaro Appalti and Spain’s Lar Desarollos Residentiales.
Demolition work starts in February 2006 and the project is scheduled to be completed in 2014.
