ABB’s Brikho steps in as Mason steps down as Amec chief executive after 10 years

Amec has revealed that Samir Brikho will become chief executive of the group when Peter Mason steps down at the end of the month.

Amec chairman, Jock Green Armytage said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of Samir Brikho as chief executive. His experience and success in a major international company of the calibre of ABB together with his personal dynamism, ideally qualifies him to take Amec forward.”

Brikho is currently head of the power systems division at energy firm ABB, and chairman of the international projects business ABB Lummus Global. He will take over from Mason, who has led Amec for 10 years, when he steps down as chief executive and director at the end of September.

Brikho said: “Amec has a quality skills base and world-class businesses in a range of markets. I look forward to joining the group and to helping it take advantage of the many opportunities before it during this exciting time of transformation.”
