Quantity surveyor Bucknall Austin has appointed John Morgan chief executive.
The company has been looking for someone to fill the role since chairman David Bucknall led a management buyout of the £20m-turnover firm in February.

At the time of the buyout, the firm was known as Citex Project Services but has since rebranded.

Morgan worked at rival quantity surveyor Silk & Frazier for more than 20 years, most recently as an equity partner. After Silk & Frazier's takeover by consultant Atkins, Morgan joined the board of Atkins QS and its project management arm Faithful & Gould.

Bucknall said: "John's appointment will complement the already strong management skills with a focus on helping Bucknall Austin deliver enhanced services to our customers and team partners."

Ann Bentley is to take over the role of operations director.

Bucknall Austin operates out of eight offices across the UK, including London, Manchester and Birmingham.
