Building Design Partnership has acquired Dutch design practice Khandekar for an undisclosed sum

The newly formed company, BDP Khandekar, will operate from two offices in Holland with a 30-strong team. Its work will include masterplanning projects in Europe and India.

Tony McGuirk, chairman of BDP, said: “This adds significantly to our urban planning offer and gives the company a different flavour. Khandekar's experience of dealing with problems such as flooding could very usefully be applied to the UK and elsewhere.”

BDP said that it will develop an architecture studio in Holland under the leadership of former Khandekar director Shyam Khandekar and BDP's Murray Kerr.
