Publication picks up coveted IBP award

Building has picked up the coveted weekly magazine of the year award at the International Building Press awards.

The Building team saw off competition from shortlisted entries from Property Week and Inside Housing.

The judges praised Building editor Sarah Richardson’s leaders for providing “real leadership … with a genuine understanding of her subject”, as well as her decision to launch a campaign on behalf of the sector to remain in the EU.

The judges added: “Good artwork and design complemented a high standard of writing, completing a thoroughly professional package.”

The trophy was presented at a ceremony in London last week by former City of London planner Peter Rees.

Building reporter Yoosof Farah was runner up in the new journalist of the year category.
