The Builder Group, publisher of Building, has joined forces with United Business Media to stage a major new exhibition aimed at key specifiers across design and construction. Built Environment 2001 is being staged next October at the ExCel complex in the Royal Docks in east London, and is already billed as the world's most advanced exhibition centre.

Built Environment 2001 is tailored to suit the needs of senior professionals including architects, technologists, engineers, surveyors and construction managers. Running alongside Built Environment 2001 will be a conference in which the project teams for six major schemes present their experiences.

There will also be a lively programme of breakfast briefings and social events. As many professionals are too busy to spare time to attend conferences, Built Environment 2001 will stay open in the evenings.

More than half of the exhibition space has already been reserved, with 35 contracted companies, including Corus, Marshalls, Pilkington and Ideal Standard.
