Housebuilder says decision to sell as far ahead as possible will lead to record results in October

Bellway Homes is predicting a record set of results for the year end 31 July 2004. In a trading statement, the housebuilder said that it had increased its number of housing completions from 6,278 to 6,610 in the last year.

The firm said that the average selling price of its homes had increased 7% to £160,000 nd that its operating margins were ahead of last year’s results.

The Group expects its number of sales to increase further in the next 12 months. It says that a decision to sell as far ahead as possible had resulted in a forward sales level of £587m, which represented more than 50% of the current target for the year.

Bellway’s end of year result will be announced on October 19.
