Anglo-US healthcare architect Anshen + Allen has been bought by Canadian consultant Stantec for an undisclosed sum.

Anshen + Allen said the deal would create a global practice of more than 1,000 architects, working alongside planners, engineers and surveyors in the $1.5bn turnover Stantec business.
Anshen + Allen employs 80 people in its London office, and 108 architects worldwide. It claims to have designed £2.5bn worth of healthcare buildings since it was set up in the UK in 1990.

Roger Swanson, Anshen + Allen’s chief executive officer, will stay on under Stantec.

He said his firm chose to merge with Stantec because it allowed it to compete for global projects.
