Building Design Partnership plans to move its 275-strong Manchester office into a £5m block entirely designed by the multidisciplinary practice. The 3850 m2 development by Town Centre Securities will be one of the first new buildings overlooking Piccadilly canal basin next to Manchester’s main railway

station. The building will be enclosed behind a south-facing stainless-steel facade and a window wall facing north to the canal. Natural ventilation and night-time cooling help it achieve an “excellent” BREEAM rating. AYH was the quantity surveyor.
