Multidisciplinary business Capita Property Consultancy has poached a senior Railtrack executive, one of three new directors the firm has appointed this month.

CPC, part of the listed Capita Group, said this week that John Southgate, Lindsay McCombe and Andrew Harnett had joined the firm.

Southgate was formerly head of investment strategy at Railtrack where he oversaw its £2bn annual investment plan.

He has joined CPC as managing director of the firm's transportation division, which provides advice on procurement to the rail industry.

McCombe, formerly a director at QS Currie & Brown, has been appointed director of cost management at CPC's Redditch office. Harnett, who worked for QS Colliers CRE for 17 years, is to become director of building surveying at CPC's London office.

CPC's turnover last year was more than £80m, making it one of the UK's 10 largest multidisciplinary consultants.
