Carillion and Babcock are part of a team that has won a £3bn contract to provide training, training support, infrastructure and services to the Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME) over 30 years.

The joint venture, called Holdfast, will deliver £300m of capital works for new refurbished soldier accommodation and also aim to develop more efficient use of the training estate, reduce running costs, and improve facilities.

Work will start next January and the contract is expected to free up 300 military personnel to return to the field army from its training division.
