Firm makes announcement following £554m takeover although no job cuts confirmed

Carillion has announced it is to close a former Alfred McAlpine headquarters in Lanarkshire, Scotland as part of its ongoing reorganisation after its £554m takeover of the firm.

Carillion has said that jobs at the base, which was the headquarters of Alfred McAlpine business services, are under review and no decisions on redundancies have been taken. However, it has been reported that up to 350 jobs may be lost from the region.

Workers are currently undergoing a consultation period with Carillion, and some may be offered alternative roles in other regions of Scotland.
