Joint venture with Arcadis NL selected for five-year contract to expand Philips' sites in Netherlands

Carillion’s Netherlands joint venture has secured a £350m facilities management contract with Philips.

The joint venture between Carillion, which signed a £554m takeover deal with Alfred McAlpine last week, and Arcadis NL has been selected for a five-year direct and managed services contract. The joint venture is known as Arcadis Aqumen facility management (AAfm).

The contract involves expanding Philips’ sites in the Netherlands, almost doubling the company’s site space to 1.6 million m2.

From April 2008 onwards, AAfm will provide facilities management, maintenance, cleaning, security, mail and logistics and space planning services.

John McDonough, Carillion's chief executive said: “We are delighted to be extending the services we provide for Philips with a contract that reinforces AAfm's position as market leader in the Netherlands.”
