Carillion has this month merged two of its recruitment businesses, NCS and Pasco, in an attempt to tackle the skill shortages in the construction industry.
New firm SkyBlue intends to create partnering arrangements with construction firms, offering recruitment services on a long-term basis, rather than project to project.

SkyBlue will supply experts in building and construction, road, rail and underground infrastructure, engineering, oil and gas, petrochemicals and a full range of support and maintenance services.

SkyBlue general manager Colin Trussler said: "By forging long-term partnerships, businesses can ensure that they get the right people in the right place at the right time, whilst the workforce will not have the worries caused by finding themselves out in the cold once a project has been completed."
