Carillion’s team, which includes Balfour Beatty subsidiary Haden Building Management and Reliance Integrated Services, will manage and maintain 8500 of BT’s properties. The agreement includes an option to extend the contract for a further five years.
Carillion chairman Sir Neville Simms said he was delighted with the deal, the UK’s largest FM contract to date.
He said: “The innovative agreement has been made possible through the development of a strong partnership with BT, which I believe will set new standards for quality and efficiency.”
The Carillion team will split the contract into eight regional centres.
A Carillion spokesman said the firm would appoint a project director to oversee the work. The other shortlisted bidders for Project Jaguar were Bovis Lend Lease/Dalkia and Mace/Citex.
